April 28th to 30th, 2017 | Opening: April 27th, 2017 | XPOST in Cologne | Gladbacher Wall 5, 50670 Cologne In April works from my Cyanotype series "Welcome" and "Take me to the River" will be presented in Cologne by the Gallery Gaudi (Madrid).
Dedicated to contemporary art, KÖLNER LISTE occupies the principal art week in Cologne. In parallel with Art Cologne, the halls of XPOST Köln will be filled with art from April 28th to 30th 2017. The fourth edition of KÖLNER LISTE is designed to inspire and engage, inciting the discovery of new names and artworks. Art lovers see KÖLNER LISTE as an ideal extension to Art Cologne, a place where their view of the contemporary scene is broadened and their collecting possibilities expand. Spanning across the 4000 sqm of the historic XPOST venue, the fair will introduce new art Cologne hasn’t seen before, serving as the hub for all contemporary art enthusiasts. The late 19th-century industrial halls of the locale serve as the perfect setting for the exhibition and its program. KÖLNER LISTE is more than an art fair in Cologne. It is a place of immersion into the art world, an event to connect with art professionals and dealers and meet artists in person, and a market for some of the most inventive high-quality art.

One of the visitors of my exhibition was Dr. Lothar Kirsch. He was fascinated by the cyanotypes and wrote a post about his impression of the tableaux in his blog.
http://rheumatologe.blogspot.de/2017/01/exhibition-into-blue-by-liz-walinski-at.html Quote: "The first set is a triptych. You can make out a netherworld, in which water leads down into the ice, like Dante’s deepest hell. In the middle you can see our world, which is snowed upon as winter demands. On the side you see God’s realm, the paradise, much like Mount Fuji (富士山). And I feel reminded of some of Ando Hiroshige’s (安藤 広重) Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富士三十六景). ... The next cyanotype reminds me of glaciers in gloomy weather, when they emit lots of blue. And with this picture I also started reminiscing a painting by the late Rudolf-Werner Ackermann of which I can produce a photograph. ... It reminds me of chaos theory, of bifurcations that make out our lives. The more bifurcations the easier they lead us into chaos. We can watch it in good crime movies, when the killer ends up in a chaos of lies, each being the wrong choice at a bifurcation. So the picture could well be titled “Bifurcations”. End Quote Thank you very much, Lothar Kirsch Solo-Show at Terminal 2 - Munich Airport Comment to the Exhibtion Over the last several years, I explored nature and landscape as her main source of inspiration.
Clouds became a directing symbol, in their transient nature they don't conform, they are constantly moving and changing, evolving and never static. They fill the sky with many moods, colours and textures and my paintings reveal a symbolist esthetic in that they reflect the feeling the clouds evoke. Besides clouds I has always been fascinated by water. The presented cyanotpye series is an impression of the river I live nearby, the Isar. They were created by bringing light-sensitive paper in direct contact with the elements in and around the Isar river. Water, sand and gravel touch the paper, and the influence of sunlight is used to capture a picture of the shore, the landscape and the river. The result is a series of tableaux that show the restless forces of the flowing water. Landscape pictures in the best sense of the word. I am honored that my work is presented by Munich Airport in January 2017. The gallery space is in Terminal 2, Level 04 in the Check-in Area and open to the public. My special thanks goes to Alexander, Paul and Charly, who helped me put up the show. So grateful. "In this call for postal art it is proposed as a transgression of the lifestyle imposed by the speed at which reality moves It is a battle against daily stress in search of a haven where you can stop, reflect and improve the direction and quality of our lives. I propose to take a moment of true silence (or several) to analyze yourself and your current situation and tell us your experience through art. “ What your inside says?“ " No big surprise that my inside feels like clouds. This cloud is made by monotype. All the entrys are listed on the Confidencias Mudas-tumbrsite. |
