LIZZART

Similar to an anthropologist presenting her findings, I create images from cultural findings and fragments which I  explore and process.

Liz Walinski

I am a painter and a photographer - this in the true sense of the word.
If you translate the ancient Greek word photós with light 'and graphein with' write ',' paint ',' draw ', then it is true:
"I paint, draw and write with light".

Exhibition in October: from Friday, October 9th until Sunday 11.10.
In 2020 the open studio days will take place in Sendling. Because of the current restrictions, I am not showing my work in my studio this year, but in the SPD office at Daiserstraße 27 together with Berit Opelt.
The opening hours are:
  • Friday, October 9th from 6pm to 10pm
  • Sa 10 October from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sun 11 October from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Accompanying this, there is an art campaign in the St. Korbinan Church on Gotzinger Platz with the title "System relevant" in which I am represented with an artwork.

All information about art in Sendling, the hygiene regulations to be observed and an app with the map to the exhibition locations can be found on the website of Art in Sendling.

The Crux of the Matter

This artwork is called „Der Springende Punkt“. Literally translates from German to English with „the jumping dot“. But that is not the meaning. What it means is the „crux of the matter“. The expression goes back to Aristotle. In the metaphorical use of the phrase, "Der Springende Punkt" represents the essential and decisive criterion of life: "There it is!". The key point is the core theme of life: free from constraints and fears. It takes courage to lead it.
